Description
Background
Mouse anti Bovine CD172a (SIRPa) antibody, clone IL-A24, recognizes CD172a also known as SIRP alpha or MyD-1 antigen. CD172a is a transmembrane protein involved in cell signal regulation and the IgV domain of CD172a is the receptor for CD47. The interaction of CD47 and SIRPα results in inhibition of phagocytosis by macrophages through tyrosine phosphatase activation and inhibition of myosin accumulation. Bovine CD172a is mainly expressed on macrophages, monocytes, dendritic cells, granulocytes, myeloid progenitors, hematopoietic stem cells, and neurons.
