OUR MISSION is to help facilitate the distribution of reliable, high quality antibodies required by the global research community to support improved animal vaccine R&D efforts.
OUR VISION is to facilitate the veterinary vaccine process to improve the health of livestock and thus help address food insecurity worldwide.
One out of nine people are food insecure and over 1 billion people depend on their livestock to meet their daily nutritional needs.
Vaccines are one of the most economical and effective means of maintaining and supporting healthy livestock. It is far more effective to prevent livestock diseases then it is to treat the animals when they are sick.
NEAH has developed an innovative, non-profit consortium to facilitate the manufacture and distribution of quality reagents to the veterinary research community. We focus on what the research community needs to advance their vaccine research towards new and better veterinary vaccines.
Better Reagents, Better Results
For many animal science researchers, the lack of readily available species-specific immunology reagents is a major hinderance to their work. There is a breadth of valuable research antibody reagents, created by scientists and institutions over decades, that are generally not commercially viable and so, not widely available or they are of inconsistent quality, yet are still critical to the vaccine R&D process.
Addressing a Critical Need
NEAH is working to develop a new paradigm for how to address the gaps and unmet needs of the research community for the manufacturing and supply of high quality, critical immune reagents. We proactively seek out and collaborate with partners in the food animal research community who have reagents to share, to facilitate the sustainable delivery of these reagents, prepared under exacting quality control procedures, to researchers who can help advance the livestock vaccine R&D process.
Researchers will benefit from having access to high-quality, affordable reagents, often from the same lot, to make data sharing and lab to lab result comparison more robust and meaningful.
NEAH Partners
NEAH and Pentland Immunologics (a subsidiary of The Moredun Group) have jointly created a non-profit partnership to help facilitate this process. The work requires the cooperation and coordination of a range of researchers, institutions, NGO’s, government agencies and private businesses.
By aligning the resources of these individuals and organizations, NEAH can help directly impact the vaccine R&D work being done and help move the process forward in a more efficient manner. Our partners are crucial to this work, they include:
Reagent Donors:
Moredun Group
CSIRO
ILRI
Manufacturing Partners
Green Mountain Antibodies
Immunotools, GmBH
Strategic Partners
Pentlands Immunologic
